Could the question be, "I am interested in BAMStats. Can someone who has used it give me a rating or review of the software?" If I say to somebody in my lab, 'hey, have you ever used X?', it's most likely I mean they should review X, not tell me 'yes' or 'no' and stop talking to me. That being said, it makes a lot of sense to rewrite this question to be more specific.

If the answer was 'yes', I would certainly follow it up with, what do you want to know about it? So, here it is very important to be specific from the beginning, there could be many aspects, like installing, performance, support, troubleshooting, tutorials, etc.. If you are interested in the particular software feel free to edit it to be more specific or write a bit more in a comment. Don't worry about the original intention of the op, because it is impossible to be sure about it.

The answers given here were possibly intended to demonstrate the downside of asking a question this way.

Edit: or even better, if you have some experience with the tool, earn your own reputation by adding a "Tool" entry, and describing it a little. That's possibly a better deal for you.
