This hands-on course is designed for biologists and bioinformaticians who already use R and would like to learn how to build, document, test, maintain, and distribute their own Bioconductor packages.


Topics include:

- Writing robust R functions and package structure
- Documentation with roxygen2
- Unit testing and quality control
- Managing dependencies and namespaces
- Continuous integration with GitHub Actions
- Bioconductor interoperability principles
- Creating custom Bioconductor classes and data packages
- Package vignettes and websites
- Package submission, release, and maintenance in Bioconductor
- Dissemination through package websites, JOSS, and rOpenSci

The course combines lectures, live demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and office hours, with a strong emphasis on Bioconductor best practices and reproducible software development.
