Massive Bio custom designs smart oncology decision support platforms for mid-size hospitals, to facilitate the incorporation of emerging tumor-profiling technologies. These platforms prioritize treatment and testing options based on up-to-date evidence-based guidelines, reports from lab-developed tests (LDTs) for tumor profiling, and other important variables in the patient's electronic health record (EHR) like cancer subtype, histopathology, stage, treatment setting, contraindications, and performance status.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, on a contract basis, for the following:

• Develop Knowledge-Based Clinical Decision Support (CDS) systems that reduce expert oncologist recommendations into simple query-able rules.
• Standardize and consolidate multiple data annotation sources into NoSQL DBs.
• Design and develop automated workflows, following best-practices for:
  • Quality control and assurance of patient records and associated metadata
  • HIPAA privacy, security, and breach notification rules
• Work with Massive Bio's data analysts, oncologists, and molecular biologists, to assist them with automation of data collection, curation, and reporting.

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience in Software Engineering with a strong understanding of Knowledge-Based Systems; 3 to 5 years of industry experience or a proven track record in the appropriate field is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in interface design for clinical decision support platforms.
• Experience with one or more tools for configuration management (Ansible, Puppet), continuous integration (jenkins, travis-ci), and workflow management.
• Strong analytical and reverse engineering skills for troubleshooting technical issues. Good design sensibilities for reproducibility, modularity, and idempotence.
• Mastery of Unix, Python, Javascript, and Perl is required.
