Massive Bio custom designs smart oncology decision support platforms for mid-size hospitals, to facilitate the incorporation of emerging tumor-profiling technologies. These platforms prioritize treatment and testing options based on up-to-date evidence-based guidelines, reports from lab-developed tests (LDTs) for tumor profiling, and other important variables in the patient's electronic health record (EHR) like cancer subtype, histopathology, stage, treatment setting, contraindications, and performance status.
We are seeking a Health Informatics Scientist or Senior Software Engineer from a major hospital or oncology practice, on a contract basis, for the following:
- Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data on Electronic Health Records (EHR), following Clinical Document Architecture (CDA®) as specified by Health Level Seven® International (HL7).
- Provision and orchestrate compute resources, storage, and network capacity on cloud-based and on-site servers.
- Design and develop automated workflows, following best-practices for:
- Quality control and assurance of patient records and associated metadata
- Standardization and consolidation of data across multiple health systems
- Documentation and testing of all HL7 interfaces
- HIPAA privacy, security, and breach notification rules
- Management of databases for structured and unstructured information.
- Interact with hospital IT staff and Massive Bio's oncology data analysts, to assist them with automation of data conversions and curation.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Engineering for Healthcare Information Systems, with a proven track record in an appropriate related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in one or more cloud hosting APIs and CLI tools like Aptible, Amazon's EC2 API, Google's gcloud, or DigitalOcean's HTTPS request API.
- Experience with one or more tools for configuration management (Ansible, Puppet), continuous integration (jenkins, travis-ci), and workflow management.
- Strong analytical and reverse engineering skills for troubleshooting technical issues. Good design sensibilities for reproducibility, modularity, and idempotence.
- Mastery of Unix, Python, Javascript, and Perl is required.
Contract duration and pricing will be detailed after understanding your capabilities, when the scope of the assignment is detailed.
