• AI-Assisted Coding for Bioinformatics with Python - ONLINE, 1–2 July

This course introduces participants to AI-based coding tools and demonstrates how to integrate them effectively into bioinformatics research workflows. The focus is on practical strategies to use AI for coding tasks in Python, including prompt engineering, quality assessment, reproducible documentation, and best practices for transparent, AI-assisted programming.

• Integrating LLMs into R Workflows - ONLINE, 4 August

Large Language Models (LLMs) are transforming how we write, explain, and debug R code. This hands-on workshop introduces the ecosystem of LLM-based tools for R and demonstrates how to integrate them directly into your data analysis workflows. Participants will learn to use LLMs to generate, edit, document, and troubleshoot R code — boosting productivity, creativity, and reproducibility in their research.

In addition, we also offer a course focused on the development of AI agents for life sciences:

• Agentic AI for Life Sciences - ONLINE, 6–7 July

Agentic AI is rapidly reshaping how researchers work. This course teaches life scientists how to use agentic AI tools properly: systems that go beyond chatbots to read files, write code, run commands, and execute multi-step research tasks. Despite the growing importance of these tools, there is little structured guidance available for researchers. Most are left to navigate this shift independently. The course covers the full stack of agentic AI skills, from understanding the tools and structuring effective prompts, through to building reusable research workflows. All exercises use real life sciences data and tasks.

These courses are designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in applying LLMs and AI tools to real-world computational biology and data analysis problems.
