News: (Workshop) - AI-Assisted Coding for Bioinformatics with Python – online, 1–2 July

Dear all,

Are you interested in using AI tools to improve your coding workflow and increase your productivity in bioinformatics?

Join our new online course “AI-Assisted Coding for Bioinformatics with Python”, taking place on 1–2 July.

This hands-on course will introduce practical strategies for integrating AI coding assistants into Python-based bioinformatics workflows. Participants will learn how to write effective prompts, generate and improve Python code, debug AI-generated scripts, and build reproducible and transparent AI-assisted analyses.

During the course, we will explore:

  • How to effectively use AI tools for Python programming in bioinformatics
  • Prompt engineering strategies for coding tasks
  • Evaluating, debugging, and improving AI-generated code
  • Applying AI assistance to data wrangling, genomics analyses, and visualisation
  • Best practices for reproducibility, documentation, and responsible use of AI

The course is designed for researchers and students who want to boost their coding productivity using AI tools, as well as researchers interested in developing efficient and reproducible workflows.

The course will be held online (2–6 PM Berlin time) to facilitate international participation.
