Hello everyone,

In a little under two weeks, Dr. Kendra Maas at The University of Connecticut Computational Biology Core (CBC) will be hosting a four-day Virtual Microbial Ecology workshop, from December 15th to 18th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, in-person at Storrs campus. This workshop may be made hybrid if there is sufficient external interest. Topics covered include accessing HPC resources and submitting jobs via Slurm, raw sequencing data quality control, OTU clustering, in silico taxonomic identification, and general microbiome data analysis in Mothur and R. Participants will also recieve instruction in community ecology statistics and data visualization methods.

Temporary access to high-performance computing resources will be provided for attendees, and no prior HPC or Linux experience is required.
