Asking for help the way you did it is like going to a doctor and saying that something hurts somewhere in the body.
no need to be so rude. if you can't help just move along.
You just asked one of the most helpful people on the forum to move along. Sure, the comment was a bit tongue in cheek, but I am fairly certain Dr. Dlakic did not mean to offend you.
Once again: if you could explain your problem better, it's possible you'd receive some assistance here.
yeah real helpful! I had already mentioned I was new to this, he could just asked me clarify i would have done so. This sarcasm isn't helpful, it just wastes my time. and yeah it was pretty rude too. Thought this forum was supposed be helpful maybe I was wrong.
I understand the comment was frustrating, and I understand it's all that more tougher when you're looking for help, feeling lost, and you end up with a response of this sort. And I am sorry that you're having to deal with all of this, under whatever circumstances it is you are in right now. But Mensur Dlakic is a being too, and they have their ups and downs also; they are not obligated to respond in a precisely helpful manner at all times. Nor are they required to refrain from being a bit cheeky in a post here and there.
(I would argue that they were still pointing out that it would help if you provided more details. Also you are assuming it was sarcasm there. Why?)
All that said, I've asked you twice to provide more details. Unless you're just an angry troll, why didn't you take up those opportunities to improve your chances of getting assistance here?
I presume "ds discovery" is alluding to the tool from BIOVIA. I am unfortunately not familiar with it. I quickly tried installing the
Discovery Studio Visualizertool, but that was a pain, and I presume it cannot do the "superimposing" you're asking for. So can't help you here, sorry. However, it appears there is a dedicated forum hosted by Dassault for this tool (and others) here. Did you give that forum a try?
I am very well aware that NO one is obligated to reply, I just asked for help and that's all. If you can't no need leave such comments that are just unproductive. Anyways I'm not here to fight and I'm certainly not a troll. I already found my answer on my own. But thanks for your help anyways.
I'm glad to hear that you've found a solution. And it's good to know you're not looking to argue (nor a troll). I wish you good luck with your work!!
and yes I was talking about the BIOVIA discovery. I Thought it was pretty common (again new to this). that is why I didn't feel the need to clarify(mistake on my part). it does have superimposing. All you have to do is load your structure (in PDB format) in the same tab. go to >structure>superimpose>by Center of Geometry and it will superimpose for anyone wondering.
What are "ds discovery", "TIA", and "v21.1"? The clearer your question, the better the chances of someone being able to assist you.
