I have DNA sequencing data on murine samples, which I want to run through a database like COSMIC to annotate cancer-relevant mutations. I see this question has already been asked here:

http://seqanswers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70729&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+seqanswers-all+(SEQanswers+-+All+Forum+Threads)&do=bbcode

However, I don't see any definitive solutions to this problem. The genomic co-ordinates liftover solution seems pretty straightforward compared to the approach used by the publication linked in the post, however the latter seems more accurate. What would be the best way to go about doing this?
