GREAT web server

Hi,

As we know, GREAT is a web server for non-coding regions annotatin, Can we use it for coding regions?

great web server coding regins non-coding regins

GREAT assigns biological meaning to a set of non-coding genomic regions by analyzing the annotations of the nearby genes. Thus, it is particularly useful in studying cis functions of sets of non-coding genomic regions.

If I may ask how you will use it for coding regions? what is your idea?

Based on this definition, using it for coding genes sounds be rather pointless since it would just return the annotation of the gene itself. Or worse, also return annotation of neighbouring genes?

That is why I asked for the idea to show a point :)
