what command did you give to install. And which and from where you got the BLAT source?
I downloaded from this link:
http://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/admin/exe/ : linux.x86_64
After unzip, I type make under blatSrc directory.
Get the pre-compiled executable for linux here.

Should I download parent directory from here?
Please mention step by step....
No step by step needed. Just get this one file. You may need to add execute permissions
chmod a+x blat.
