how I connect putty between host computer and my lap top?
Hi,
I found a host computer, I installed putty but I don't know how transfer my files to host computer and how for example install R packages on that computer. I googles but I found confusing clues. I know how to access with vpn but not putty. because by vpn I was able to inspect host computer but putty is just a black terminal neither start menu nor anything else.

For transferring files between your local windows computer and the server use FileZilla, if you can access the website to download the installer.
If you are not seeing anything in the putty program then you may have a corrupt install. See this on how to get started.
Thank you so much, I installed WinSCP last night and was able to transfer files. but now I should figure out how to google, ect, very different with what I learned with accessing via vpn.

Looks like some of the packages are not installing correctly. Are you installing in local personal space: https://csg.sph.umich.edu/docs/R/localpackages.html
Thanks a lot, I noticed when I am installing the packages have been placed in default place. finally I installed packages.
