Genome Analysis
Hello friends
I am looking for some sort of protocol for genome analysis ,starting with assembly of contigs. i have a nucleotide sequencing data some fungal species and now im interested in performing a genome analysis of the data,i have a prior knowledge of protein anlaysis but i have never performed a genome analysis,
i have read about genome analysis but there does'nt seems to b a prpoer methodolgy to it except 1.Assembly of genomic sequence 2.predicting repeated sequences 3. Gene Prediction 4. EST and CDNA Sequences analysis 5. GENOME ANNOTATION

And once you have those contigs, what exactly is it that you're seeking to accomplish? Do you wish to identify genes, genes of a particular type, or compare genomes. You may just want to know the species distribution, say in a metagenomic sample. An objective of your proposed analysis needs to be stated in order to see some useful responses.
