Have you tried to write "
research topic" onBiostar search engine? You'll find several posts related to this issue. Bioinformatics is a broad field, with many "sub-fields" within it (genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, proteomics...), and inside each one even more areas, so first of all you should have a general idea about all of them, and afterwards choose the one that is more appealing to you. Before reading specific papers, I'd suggest you to read some general reviews, or maybe take a general course about what bioinformatics is. Sorry I can't provide any further help.Hello thilinib91!
