Well my Googling finds plenty of tools to convert a PROSITE pattern into a POSIX or Perl regular express, but nothing going the other way. It may be worth asking the ELM (http://elm.eu.org/) folks if they are aware of any tools to do this (pointing them at this question so they can provide feedback of course). Alternatively if you have implemented your own solution it would be great if you shared it.
