Trying to Understand why and how NGS Reads follow Poisson Distribution

I am reading the basic concepts in NGS alignment and mapping and I understand the Poisson distribution characteristics of the short random reads generated by the sequencer machines are the key in designing these mapping algorithms either sequence wise or word matching methods.

Can someone explain and help me understand how the NGS reads follow poisson distribution?

You should try to phrase your question more precisely. The answer to your literal question is: "NGS reads do not follow a Poisson Distribution" The distribution defined for counts of events not for the reads itself.
