Forum: Career advice

hi Biostars people, I'm a curation scientist with 9-10 years experience across WGS and large panel cancer genomics data curation (pathology and research). I have a masters degree with several electives in bioinformatics. I have good bioinformatic knowledge - I have dug deep into understanding pipelines like Illumina localApp and DRAGEN and have some experience running some basic RNASeq pipelines. What i lack is coding skills - since I don't do it routinely I have forgotten much of my programming language skills. For the next step in my career, I am hoping to advance by gaining a better footing in bioinformatics. But I have no idea where to start or where any further training could lead. Any advice anyone can offer to gain some experience/training without having to enrol in a university course or a PhD? Kindly also share your personal experiences / career trajectories if you can. Much appreciated, thank you! You can address me as 'SB'.
