Human microbiome project file download
Hi all,
I'm downloading a bunch of stool metagenomes from iHMP. Can anyone explain this:
There's a bunch of these files with the same name, but different file sizes listed. When I download them, they are exactly the same. Why are they listed seperately?

Welcome to bioinformatics
what you observe is the net effect of people designing software interfaces way past their capabilities and realities.
I would just move on, there will be much more taxing things to troubleshoot, not worth spending time here.

It seems that
these samples have unique UUID's so there must be a significance as to why there are 4 of these files that seem to be same/similar. You will need to investigate that using the UUID's to trace their origins.
