RPKUM

What is “RPKUM” in RNAseq analysis context? There is no description about it in the paper and I cannot find any web pages which explain about it. It could be Reads Per Kilobase of “Unit” per Million mapped reads, I guess, but not sure.

Now I noticed that The supplemental information has Abbreviations including RPKUM…

It has been explained as Reads Per Kilobase of Unique exon per Million mapped reads (RPKUM) in this paper.

Thanks a lot! Using RPKUM seems to be important when we want to avoid underestimating gene expression level in some cases.
