Genes in GO pathways
Should I expect all genes in the "innate immune response" GO pathway to be in at least one child term of this pathway?
Using GO.db in R/R Studio, I get that there are 1008 genes in "innate immune response" but when I get the offspring terms, there are about 700 genes. Does this mean that GO has noted that there are 300 genes in the innate immune response but the database does not know which pathways these genes are in or is it likely that I did something incorrectly?
