Tophat Install Question

Hello, My question is rather a basic one. I am installing tophat on my linux 64 bit computer. But having difficult over the configure file when trying to install tophat linux 64. So I took the source code option file on the web site, which is installing alot easyer. There is no information regards to the source code file being used on which system. So my question is will it be ok to run the source code file on linux 64 bit system ?

Just download the 64-bit Linux binary version, it will run fine and not require compilation. Anyway, the source code with compile and run fine on Linux, which is where it's primarily used.
