Introduction To Genomics For Non-Biologists Willing To Become Bioinformaticians

Hello, I would like you to point me out some texts (preferably online, but I also welcome books etc.) which could be used as an introduction to genomics, suitable for people willing to enter the field of bioinformatics being familiar with computer science but not with biology.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Pierre, thanks. In my opinion those questions are related (many questions have related questions), but not exact duplicates (I am not searching for texts about bioinformatics). Currently, I am following all the links they point out, some answers do provide information about genomics (still I miss a general one, suitable for computer scientists, but I am still checking your anyway useful links).

The article titled An Online Bioinformatics Curriculum in PLOS Computational Biology (2012), might be a good start to look for resources.

In a different vein, the site below has some bioinformatic programming challenges. They are designed for beginners at programmers, but they will at least give you a taste of some classes of bioinformatics work, familiarize you with some basic formats, etc.
