Best Resources For Developmental Biology / Embryology Connected To Bioinformatics

I have an MSc in Biotechnology with some basics in Bioinformatics and plan to test some ideas for simulating embryologic development processes, hopefully connected to known gene regulatory networks (GRNs) regulating these processes.

For this purpose, I'm looking for good books or online material to gain the knowledge required. I think I firstly need a foundation in developmental biology so tips on good such books are welcome. Additionally any resources for working with developmental biology in a bioinformatics context is welcome too.

Thanks! The EMAGE software, used in the "Embryo Space" looks very interesting for my use case (I suppose experimental time/space data is very important for verifying (at least 3D-based) simulations...)

You should definitely check out Eric Davidson's work on GRNs in sea urchin development. See e g http://www.its.caltech.edu/~mirsky/pubs.htm.

True. I actually stumbled into his work some time ago and came to read quite some, and I can only agree. Also, AFAIS it's impressive stuff.
