I'm planning to include BLAST search tool in a website to search against my own databases where user can choose one of the two databases with all the optional blast parameters (e.g. E value cutoff, identity cutoff, coverage cutoff etc). Where can I get the code so I can embed the BLAST tool in my webpage as graphical user interface with all the additional parameter options? I checked the wiki page http://openwetware.org/wiki/Wwwblast# which gave me some idea but still wondering if anyone did it before?

have a look at wwwblast: Setup and Usage http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/staff/tao/URLAPI/wwwblast/wwwblast.html

see also Andrew Perry's "Setting up NCBI wwwblast on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy), Apache 2" http://blog.pansapiens.com/2008/08/25/setting-up-wwwblast-on-ubuntu-apache/

Thanks for the links. I have my apache installed in windows 7 laptop. Andrews's ubuntu set up looks great and easy to follow. I guess I have to read through the NCBI link to do it in windows platform.

Hello Paul,

Considering your recent post on this topic, I am too looking for a similar kind of a functionality. Were you able to embed BLAST?

Regards,

Pratham
