How To Know Which Is The Start Codon And Stop Codon For A Gene Sequence?

Hi Friends,

I have a sequence and want to know the start site and the stop site in that particular gene. for eg: NM_000465 is my gene sequence and want to know the start site and the stop site of the sequence so that i can translate the sequence to a proper protein sequence.

genome sequence position

@Schubert: Thanku & @Dondrup:okay

There are lots of ways to address this but figuring out the start, stop and coding sequence from sequence alone is not the best of them.

Just go here, where you'll find that start codon = 139, last coding codon (before the stop) = 2469 and look at the CDS field for the protein sequence.
