Concepts to learn

Hi there, I am basically engineering in information technology, and masters in bioinformatics. I am interested to start my career in NGS, so I searching concepts related to NGS. I am bit confusing in this what to learn that are related to NGS. As I browsed Python and R programing with NGS data analysis would be the best in NGS career. Please guide me is these concepts are good for career in NGS? And if any additional concepts are available please guide me.

next-gen r

R and python aren’t important. Picking a language you’re good with, and is widely used will be a benefit sure, but they arent ‘NGS concepts’.

You’d be best served spending your time understanding the protocols, and the underlying biology.

Did you get your Masters in Bioinformatics a while back (say before 2008)? It is otherwise hard to believe that you are asking about concepts to learn in NGS space. Anyone who did anything with bioinformatics in last decade is bound to have come across NGS concepts/analysis applications.

I did my engineering in 2008, and my masters in bioinformatics in 2014.
