How to perform eQTL study if i have small sample size?

Hi All,

I would like to study the variant effect in gene expression (eQTL) Currently, I am having 4 RNA seq sample for the disease condition. I would like to do eQTL study based on this sample. Is it feasible to do? relse can i download the microarray data from GEO and proceed further?. I am a beginner for an eQTL study. Please advice me.

I would say this is impossible, usually QTL studies use hundreds of sequenced individuals. That permit a good heterogeneity of their genome due to random recombination and a good difference of segregation between molecular markers and phenotype.

Hi, maxime! what's about 15 samples? is it appropriate to do QTL analysis? Or, is there any way to filter the MatrixEQTL results?
