Is there any kind of light-weight smaller size hg19 or the other version human reference genome for alignment?

Is there any kind of light-weight smaller size hg19 or the other version human genome for alignment? Need to do human genome alignment on a 32 GB RAM computer. Want to try SNAP, BWA, Bowtie and NextGene aligners. Looking for a proper reference genome. Thank you.

genome human alignment reference

32GB is more than sufficient for bwa and bowtie(2). I've never heard of NextGene.

Hi math4biology, can you please confirm that you are not a bot?

hostility and low cognitive abilities is not a way to health and success several experiments show

This will be your only warning, behavior like this will not be tolerated.

Using this deleted post, hope that bot doesn't see this, for private message: I think in the future we should close the post right away and if it is a rather clear case, I think we should avoid raising their attention, because that will just make it easier for them to re-start a new user. Proposing to ask just a simple question without mentioning "bot" etc., and if there is no response, close the questions and suspend the user. If they are not bots than the user may complain, I guess that never happens.

I really wonder what they aim to gain from this to the point that it makes we wonder about our judgment, but the pattern is quite striking. I just don't want to ban users who just don't master English as well. Besides the AOL email address we have no real suggestions that these are in fact bots, do we?

Unrelated comment but having a "mod channel" on slack/gitter/... might be convenient for this type of communication.

Hi, BWA and Bowtie are open-source aligners programs, but NextGene is commercial program (black box) which probably use some modification of those aligners. I have no problem to do any kind of alignment with my personal computer - 32 GM RAM, i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz × 12.. Reference genome hg19 and hg38 - sequencing data from Illumina - MiSeq, NextSeq and HiSeq (WES, panels amplicons and enrichment..). It very depends how you will optimized your codes.
