computing time for BWA index

Hello,

I am creating the BWA indices for the human genome build 19 (GRCh37) on an AMD machine with 8 processors, 4 GHz and 32 GB of RAM. The process is taking ages, and in particular has stalled on construct SA from BWT and Occ for a couple of days now. Is this normal or should I abort the process and restart?
