A question about Perl symbol lookup error

Hello everyone!

I installed several Perl modules in a local library on a cluster, since I don't have root access. After this, even though the program that uses these Perl modules seems to run without problem, I get this error message in the first line of the log that I get upon completion of each job submitted to the cluster, even those that use Python scripts.

perl: symbol lookup error: ~/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/Cwd/Cwd.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Istack_sp_ptr

I don't get this when I run Perl scripts directly in the local node.

An online search tells me that this error message happens when there are two version of Perl installed? I think I only have one version of Perl installed, which is the version (5.10) native to the cluster. The problem could be the local library at ~/perl5? Also, my jobs seem to run to completion without problem, so is this error message affecting my results in some unseen way?

All in all, I wonder: 1) What effects does this have when my jobs seem to all run to completion? 2) How can I fix this when I don't have root access?

Thank you very much!
