Forum: Biostars meta: Does "Watched tags" work?

Hello- This is a question on biostars.org itself.

Under my "My profile" I have some tags in the "Watched tags", so I should get email when a post matching the tag is posted. However I don't seem to receive any message. For example "java" is among my tags but I didn't get notified about this post Need library for implementation of DNA Alignment.

Am I missing something or the "watched tags" feature is not working (which would be a shame since it's nice)?

(If this question should be an issue on github let me know and I'll post there).

In your profile do you have the notifications set to email? That may be one reason for this.

Hi- Thank you, that may be the reason. I have Notifications set to "default", I going to change it to "email" and see what happens.

It's hit or miss whether email actually works. There are months at a time when no emails actually seem to be sent out.

Thanks guys for your feedback. I'm afraid I'm still not getting notifications after changing the Notifications setting.
