Using Colony With Multiple Threads

Hi,

One student in the lab is trying to use the latest version of the Colony software with multiple threads under Windows. When trying to start the run, the software prompts for a username, a password and a domain. We are simply trying to use the 4 cores of the computer on which the software is installed, not cores from a cluster or anything fancy.

I have no clue what I should put as the domain. I tried the computer's windows account login/password and put the IP address as the domain, not knowing what to put there. Of course, it didn't work :)

Do you know what I should be entering when asked for the domain?

If I remember correctly, Windows applications sometimes refer to the "Workgroup" as the "Windows Domain Name". My best guess is that is what it prompts for.

I tried using the user login/password with 'Administrators' as the domain, since this user account is part of that group, but without success. Any idea?

Sorry Eric - I have no idea which specific workgroup (domain) it requires. Have you tried emailing the author of the software?

Yes, we are in communication both with him and the IT guys here to create the winning conditions, however they have not materialized now :)
