Capillary sequencing data analysis

Hello, I m looking for a tool which can trim the AB1 file and gives me the fasta and quality file so i can go for the further analysis.

P.S. i used the phred but it dnt give the freedom to setup the quality values . even if any one knows how to do that then thanks in advance

hi, Lasergene's DNAStar had the capability of working with capillary seq. data when I was working on such data. Check for details on website.

DNAStar is not free software. Just so you don't raise @kapil's hopes.
@kapil: DNABaser claims to be freeware and can edit ab1 files (not sure if the lite version has that capability). Use at your discretion.

hi, apologies. Advertising paid software was not the intention. Thanks though. I am not aware of any free s/w with this feature.

Generally when people are asking about software they are looking for free options that was the reason I added the clarification for DNAStar. There is no restriction about mentioning commercial software on Biostars as far as I know.
