Hi,
I would like to use Eigenstrat on my computer (downloaded from https://github.com/DReichLab/EIG). I have a Mac and have downloaded Virtual Box and installed Ubuntu.
The first thing I would like to do is convert my files from PLINK format to a format compatible with Eigenstrat. First, I wanted to check to see if your convertf program is working by going to the /bin directory and typing in ./convertf. I received the following error message:
"error while loading shared libraries: libgsl.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
I returned to the README file in the Eigensoft package and noticed that it requires that the system has GSL + lapack + OpenBLAS packages installed (which mine does not) and recommends re-making the package. I have tried installing these packages, but I have not been successful in doing so.
I am very new to both Ubuntu and Eigenstrat, so I don't have the know-how to compile the package easily (it will be a very lengthy process of google searches and trial and error). Does a pre-compiled version of this exist that can be downloaded and function properly with little to no modification? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

This site has eigensoft binaries for OS X. Is there a reason you are using Ubuntu?
Disclaimer: This is not the latest version (it is v.5.x) but in case you are unable to make the ubuntu install work this could be an option. Please use/try at your own risk.
Thanks for your reply. I'm using Ubuntu because I wasn't aware that there was a non-linux based option for eigensoft.
