A great time and the opportunity to meet like-minded colleagues. I was part of last year DCGenomics' Hackathon at NCBI. Highly recommended.

There is also a paper with all interested participants as authors. It doesn't matter if you are an expert or a novice, I can promise you will come out having learned something new.
