Hello,

There are so many journals out there. I am just curious to know which journal is most read in the community to get a feel about recent trends and to read reviews in computational biology/bioinformatics?

Thanks for your time.

Nature Biotechnology also has an interesting (yet very limited) Computational Biology section http://www.nature.com/nbt/journal/v32/n11/index.html

I find journals less relevant these days as I mostly find papers through web searches or social interactions (on-line or otherwise). Browsing journals is good for finding things of potential interest you would not be looking for but given the proliferation of both journals and papers, this is time consuming so I now only occasionally do it. I also keep a technology watch of sorts by doing occasional technology-related web searches or going to a few specialized web sites.

Might be good for mods to change this to a forum post and also look through discussions from previous post here: Which Bioinformatics Journals Do You Follow?

If what you are asking is more 'what do you read to keep up with whats going on in bioinformatics/comp bio' I would say to first find the sub-specialization you are interested in (RNA-seq / variant calling / mapping / phylogenomics / etc) and find some people on twitter that tweet about it and follow them / look for active blogs to subscribe to. ( https://www.biostars.org/planet/ might be a good starting point )
