Forum: layoffs in biotech

Hi,

What are you expectations when the biotech job market in US will improve, do you think it may happen in 2025 or 2026? With so many layoffs it may take years for people to find jobs.

layoff biotech

Yeah, it’s been a tough stretch for biotech lately — so many talented people caught up in waves of layoffs.

There are some early signs of recovery though — funding is slowly coming back, and companies are starting to hire again, especially in areas like AI-driven drug discovery, gene therapy, and diagnostics. Realistically, the job market might start improving through late 2025 into 2026 as pipelines reopen and investor confidence grows.

Hang in there — biotech is cyclical, and innovation always finds its way back. Better days are coming.
