From Molecular Biology To Bioinformatis: What Do I Need To Be A Bioinformatician?

Hi. all. Could you please, help me and give some advice? I received my PhD in biochemistry 8 years ago. I am working in the area of molecular biology since that time. I wish to change career and move to bioinformatics now. What do I need to be employable on the the market of bioinfirmatics jobs? To take a course? Which one to choose? Or is it better to get a degree in bioinformatics? I am 35 years old, am I too old to start a new career or I still have a chance?
