GWAS or QTL mapping in RIL population

Hi Everyone,

I have a RIL population and performed the phenotype investigation and NGS. Next, I want to map some genes which could regulate the phenotype.

According to my knowledge, QTL mapping is a very common method used in RIL, and there are very few studies use the GWAS method. But I think GWAS also could do mapping in RIL, because GWAS could test the association between genetic variation and phenotype, and the recombination is also reflected in the SNP.

I want to know whether GWAS could be performed in RIL, if so, why, and if not, why?

It would be better if some research papers could be provided.print()
