How do I know whether it is not a failure of ChIPseq data

I am studying gene A in WT and a gene B mutant strain. I did ChIP on gene A in WT and mutant followed by sequencing. For WT, I can capture the signal of gene A but a very low signal (similar to background) in the mutant. How do I know whether the low signal of gene B is not because of a failure of ChIP experiment, except by doing more replicates?

chipseq

Have you tried using controls? A useful guide here.
