Why sone miRNAs are not present in TCGA data
Good Morning,
Recently I have tried to perform some analysis using miRNA expression levels from TCGA specimens. I have downloaded data from https://www.linkedomics.org/login.php.
I wonder whether some miRNA are not present in the miRNA expression tables from TCGA? Are those miRNA not expressed? are they named in a different ways?
For example I cannot finde the hsa-mir-4516, hsa-mir-4488 or the hsa-mir-10401.
Thank you for your help,
Nicolò

They seem to get the data from GDC. GDC uses a particular mirBase version for miRNA analysis. If the miRNA you are looking for is not there or have a different name, that explains why.
