Number of samples for lefse analysis

Hello everyone,

I have a basic question regarding lefse analysis. If there is only one sample per group can I do lefse analysis ? It would be one sample against other. I would like to know whether it would be significant.

lefse is used to compare groups of samples against other groups. The minimum number of samples would be at least 5 per group. That said, if you have only 1 sample per group I am afraid you can't run any statistical analysis
