I've performed KEGG pathway over-representation analysis. One of the terms that popped up as one of the most significantly upregulated pathways was the "KEGG root term".

Does anyone know the significance of this term? Does it mean anything, or is it an unmeaningful term that should be excluded from your results? In a recent paper it is reported in the results, although no interpretation is given (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-022-08073-8.pdf?origin=ppub).
