How to use hmmsearch to search a protein hmm in a DNA database
I have a protein hmm and a DNA database and I want to know if the protein motif can be produced by this DNA sequence. However, it seems hmmsearch can only be used for the same type of data (protein-protein or DNA-DNA). I wonder whether it is the case or there is any way to solve it? Thanks in advance.
