Question for Splice variants and Alternative splicing

Hi all

I have a very naive question. I am no longer sure that I understand what alternative splicing means. For example, AT1G48420 gene of A. thaliana shows three splicing variants, but all three variants encodes the same amino acid sequences. Are they Alternative Splicing variants?

Can anyone please explain?

Thank you

splicing alternative variants splice

An alternative splicing event not necessary modifies the encoded amino acid sequence. This happens because there could be alternative splicing in the 5' or 3' untranslated regions (UTR) of a transcript.

Thank you alex.zaccaron for the clarification.

Yes there are at least three different transcripts that can arise from AT1G48420 depending on which of those first exons or exon segments is included. These do not have the same amino acid sequences. enter image description here

Thank you Jeremy Leipzig. But if I go to the amino acid sequences, these transcripts have the same amino acid sequences (401 aa).
