bad file format in HMM file

Hi people,

I am trying to run hmmpress

hmmpress ./data/dbCAN-HMMdb-V8.txt

But i have the following error:

Working...    bad file format in HMM file data/dbCAN-HMMdb-V8.txt

Please, help me,

A file ending in .txt may not be a HMM file, so that would cause a problem. Assuming that it is a HMM file, there are possible solutions here and here.

I suggest that you search Biostars before posting your questions. Very few problems are truly unique, and most questions have been answered - some of them literally hundreds of times.
