VEP Disk Space

Hello,

I want to annotate VCF-files with VEP and want to use the CADD-plugin. This I want to do on a local computer (1 TB SSD/64GB Ram). My question ist, how the data for VEP annotation is stored? Is e.g. ALL the CADD-Data for the entire genome stored on my local computer? Or in easier words...does installing VEP + CADD need large disk space and is not feasible on local computers?

Best, Andreas

The GRCh38 release 103 VEP cache on my machine (domestic Mac, no cluster) is 17 GB. The unannotated CADD file from here is 81GB.
