What Software To Use To Make A Clonal Evolution In Cancer Figure?

Hello all,

I am trying to generate a figure very similar to this one : http://genome.wustl.edu/image/images/sections/publications/aml_relapse_cover_v1-draft8-cropped.jpg for my cancer data. Any ideas on how it was created? The paper methods don't provide any information.

Agreed, almost everything I've seen says Photoshop or Illustrator all over it.

Thats probably true.... however, if I could just find something that would plot a steam graph to the scale of some data I could manipulate graphics on top of it and be alright. On another thought ...thinking about using "hive-plots" not quite sure how yet but.... http://www.hiveplot.net/img/hiveplot-ratios-large.png
