I'm looking for some record of how the the mutation rate of a gene (probability of mutation occurring at any coding base within that gene) is modified based on the gc content of the gene.
So as an example let's say the genome wide mutation rate is 1.1 x 10^-8 (according to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22345605 ), and the coding length of gene A is 4000 bp, with a gc content of 68%.
Then in theory the probability that gene A containing a mutation is 1.1x10^-8 * 4000. I want to know how this probability is modified by the gc content. Is it lower, is it higher, if so, by how much. or does it change at all?
