Display "<" and ">" as text using RMarkdown

Hi,

How can i display "<" and ">" as text using RMarkdown for html document?

Thanks

r

Are they not rendering as text? Placing > at the beginning of a line can be escaped with backslash > to keep it from becoming a block quote. Otherwise both > and < render as is in text.
